Job summary

Niagara Catholic is seeking a skilled Electrician to join the Facilities Services team in Thorold. The role involves installation, inspection, testing, repair, and modification of electrical systems across Niagara Catholic facilities.

Work will follow the Ontario Electrical Code and safety standards, with emergency response duties and work orders handled through the board's system. The position runs 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.

Qualifications

  • Valid Electricians certificate of Qualification (Ontario) is required.
  • CFAA Certification is an asset.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices and high-quality workmanship.
  • Strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to interpret and apply current National Electrical Codes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled electrical work across Board facilities including installation, maintenance, repair, inspection, and troubleshooting of electrical distribution systems, equipment, end devices and related components.
  • Carry out duties in accordance with the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, the Ontario Electrical Code, and Board policies to ensure safety and uninterrupted operations.
  • Respond to electrical emergencies and complete assigned work orders promptly using the Board's system.
  • Perform tasks at heights exceeding 15 feet in accordance with safety standards.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant codes, materials, equipment, and evolving industry practices.

If so, we may an opportunity for you!Serving as a member of the Facilities Services team, our Electricians work collaboratively within the Facilities Services and Maintenance Department to perform skilled electrical work across Niagara Catholic facilities.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Valid Electricians certificate of Qualification (Province of Ontario)
  • CFAA Certification is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices, high quality workmanship and industry best standards.
  • Strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to interpret and apply current National Electrical Codes when recommending changes or modifications.
  • Must hold a valid Ontario drivers license.

This is a full time and unionized position.

HOURS: 40 hours per week; Monday-Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

LOCATION: NCDSB Maintenance Shop – 157 McCormack Drive, Thorold, ON

RATE OF PAY: $29.07-$33.55 per hour
