Job summary

Reliance Home Comfort is seeking an experienced Electrician to join our Kingston team. You will diagnose and repair electrical systems in residential settings, while representing Reliance with professionalism and a focus on safety.

You will work with fully stocked trucks and ongoing training to grow your skills. The role requires a certified Electrician (309A), Ontario registration, a valid driver's license, and at least 5 years' related experience.

Qualifications

• Must be a certified Electrician and hold the 309A.
• Must be registered with the Ontario College of Trades.
• Must have a driver's license with clean driver's abstract.
• 5+ years of related experience.
• Excellent verbal and communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Outstanding customer service skills.
• Experience in Refrigeration, HVAC, Plumbing, and Mechanics an asset.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electrical problems in residential systems.
• Estimate repair costs and communicate with homeowners.
• Set priorities and meet deadlines.
• Perform diagnostics, repair, and installation per manufacturer specs.
• Adhere to safety rules and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct equipment inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Educate customers on electrical work and safety.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of equipment and regulations.

What will you do?

• Learn and grow as an important part of a team that cares about Reliance and its customers.
• Represent Reliance in a professional, courteous and customer service-oriented manner on every call.
• Diagnose and repair electrical problems in domestic electrical systems, including but is not limited to fault-finding, panel changes, generator installation, knob and tube removal, home rewiring etc.
• Accurately estimate repair costs, fixed right the first time and continual value-added communication with the homeowner
• Set priorities and work assignments to meet established deadlines
• Perform diagnostics, repair, maintain, service and install equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications
• Adhere to all safety rules and procedures and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Perform general and specific equipment inspections
• Educate customers on electrical work in homes
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all modern equipment and regulations
• Explain the value of Reliance products, services and programs on every call
