What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager and working with the Process, Manufacturing, and Engineering Teams.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Assemble electrical circuits as per approved design, including panel building and field wiring.
  • On-site installation of automated solutions.
  • On-site support for new and existing automation.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and pneumatic circuits.
  • Work in close conjunction with controls technicians during setup and development of PLC, robots, and vision systems.
  • Operational problem-solving and seeking out continuous improvements to the process.
  • Participate in team meetings to review and resolve quality, service, operations, facilities, human resources, and health and safety issues, when required.
  • Assist in the training and development of new members of operations.
  • Participate in 5S activities.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Certificate of Qualification as an Electrician (442A or 309A) and relevant industrial experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience in Canada is preferred.
  • Proficiency in understanding electrical/pneumatic schematic drawings.
  • Understanding of Canadian electrical code, components, and wire sizing.
  • Knowledge and understanding of basic and advanced control components like PLC, panels, field I/O modules, VFDs, servo systems, etc.
  • Understanding of safety circuits and requirements, including networked safety.
  • Familiarity with controls networks (Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT, I/O link, Asi).
  • Knowledge of electrical design would be an asset.
  • Critical thinking to identify issues, present solutions, and follow through to ensure completion.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Commitment to meeting deadline requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, at all levels of the organization.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation.
