Placements24 is seeking a highly competent Electrical Systems Designer to join our engineering team on a fully remote basis, supporting projects across South Africa, including Kimberley. You will conceptualize, design, and specify electrical components and infrastructure for diverse applications.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, at least 5 years of experience, and proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD Electrical and EPLAN.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical system design.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN) and relevant simulation tools.
• Strong understanding of power distribution, protection systems, and control circuits.
• Excellent technical documentation and remote communication skills.
• Proven ability to work autonomously and manage design projects from distance.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical system designs, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
• Select components based on project requirements and budget constraints.
• Perform power system analysis, including load flow, short circuit, and protection studies.
• Ensure designs comply with national and international electrical codes and standards.
• Collaborate remotely with project managers, clients, and other engineering disciplines to integrate electrical designs.
