About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Electrical Systems Designer to join their growing team in Kimberley. This role involves creating comprehensive electrical designs for a variety of projects, ensuring functionality, safety, and compliance with all relevant standards within the Northern Cape region. You will collaborate closely with engineers and project managers, translating project requirements into precise technical drawings and specifications. Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical design layouts, schematics, and single-line diagrams using CAD software.
• Specify electrical components, equipment, and materials, ensuring they meet project technical requirements and budget constraints.
• Perform load calculations, voltage drop analysis, and ensure compliance with relevant electrical codes and standards.
• Coordinate electrical designs with other disciplines, such as structural, mechanical, and architectural, to ensure seamless integration.
• Prepare technical documentation, including design reports, specifications, and bill of materials.
• Assist in the review of contractor submittals and provide technical support during the construction phase.

Requirements

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical systems design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical or similar electrical design software.
• Good understanding of low-voltage and medium-voltage electrical systems and power distribution.
• Familiarity with South African electrical regulations and installation standards (e.g., SANS 10142).
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
