Rightway Recruitment is assisting a growing electrical contractor expanding on Vancouver Island, Victoria. The Project Coordinator will support project managers, review drawings, procure materials, and coordinate documentation from preconstruction through closeout.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of construction coordination, project administration, or related experience.
• Previous exposure to commercial electrical construction environments is strongly preferred
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, and construction specifications
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Detail-oriented mindset with strong communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within project teams
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam
• Understanding of construction processes, documentation, and project coordination workflows
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow within the business

Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers and Site Superintendents with day-to-day project coordination activities
• Review electrical drawings, specifications, and project documentation with a critical eye for discrepancies or coordination issues
• Assist with material procurement including lighting, switchgear, commodities, and project-related equipment
• Coordinate and track shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, permits, inspections, and closeout documentation
• Assist with project scheduling and ensure materials and equipment arrive on site according to project timelines
• Monitor backorders and communicate scheduling impacts or discrepancies to the project team
• Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, field staff, clients, and general contractors throughout the project lifecycle
• Assist with change orders, project reporting, billings, WIP tracking, and cost-to-complete updates
• Support internal coordination between operations, accounting, HR, and project teams
• Attend project meetings, take meeting minutes, and assist with follow-up items
• Help identify design issues, material concerns, or project coordination conflicts as projects progress
• Maintain organized project documentation and tracking systems

Rightway Recruitment is working on behalf of a growing electrical contractor that is continuing to expand its footprint across British Columbia, including recent growth into the Vancouver Island market. The business has built a strong reputation delivering commercial, institutional, and large-scale electrical construction projects while maintaining a collaborative and team-oriented culture.

Due to continued project growth in Victoria, they are now looking to add a Project Coordinator to support ongoing electrical construction operations. Working closely alongside Project Managers, Superintendents, field teams, suppliers, and clients, this role will play a key part in coordinating projects from preconstruction through closeout.
