Job summary

Sobeys Inc. is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for our Regional Distribution Centre in Delta. You will perform preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment, focusing on electrical systems, while helping sustain a safe, efficient work environment.

The role supports Big 8 and our Central Kitchens with a Monday–Friday 8am–4:30pm schedule and potential evenings/weekends. Trade-certified electricians with industrial experience are encouraged to apply; physical work and two-person lifts

Qualifications

• Electrical trade experience required; background as electrician preferred.
• Certificate in an applicable trade and a HS diploma.
• Minimum one year in an industrial setting.
• Certified to operate mobile equipment.
• Retail support centre experience preferred.
• Physical ability for lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Able to stand and walk for long periods; may face temperature extremes.
• Willingness for evenings and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Follow preventative maintenance schedule on equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance repairs on equipment
• Assist in ordering parts as required
• Experience working on MHE (electric pallet jacks, dock stockers and reach trucks)
• Complete all daily inspections in a thorough and timely manner
• Assist in all areas of the Maintenance Department
• Adhere and implement all applicable company safety standards
• Maintain sanitation standards
• Refrigeration duties as per local Legislation if applicable
• All other duties as required
