Job summary

OZZ Electric BC is expanding to Nanaimo and seeking a Journeyperson Electrician to join our team on Vancouver Island. You will mentor apprentices and assist foremen while working on state-of-the-art high-rise and commercial projects in a growth-focused environment.

Responsibilities include installing equipment per blueprints and code, wiring connections, terminations, hazard observation, and circuit testing. Local Nanaimo work with competitive wages and benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Electrician ticket or equivalent
• Experience on high-rise and/or commercial new construction
• Good knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and local requirements
• Strong communication and time-management skills

Responsibilities

• Install electrical equipment based on blueprints and Canadian Electrical Code
• Connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment
• Terminate wiring in generators, transfer switches and junction devices
• Observe equipment functions to detect hazards and necessary adjustments
• Test continuity of circuits to ensure safety and integrity

and commercial projects across the lower mainland. You will join our growing team as a key member on the tools, both mentoring

apprentices and assisting foremen, in order to help build state-of-the-art projects for our clients.

Please note, we are expanding to Nanaimo. We are looking for people to join us on Vancouver Island.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Journeyperson you will be responsible for:

• Installing electrical equipment based on blueprints and in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code specifications
• Connecting wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment
• Terminating wiring in generators, transfer switches, and junction devices
• Observing functions of installed equipment to detect hazards and the need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement
• Testing continuity of circuits to ensure integrity and safety

EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Journeyperson Electrician ticket (Red Seal an asset)
• Experience working on high rise and/or commercial new construction projects
• Good knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and local requirements
• Excellent communication and time management skills

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Working both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
• Typical 5-day work week; overtime may be required to meet construction deadlines
• Local work in Nanaimo
