TDR Electric is searching for experienced Electricians to lead field crews in Vancouver. You will install, test, and commission electrical systems on commercial and institutional projects, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

The role includes mentoring apprentices, coordinating with forepersons, and maintaining organized job sites while upholding company standards and BC code compliance.

Qualifications

• Red Seal Certification in Electrical is required.
• Journeyperson Electrician with Lead Hand experience considered an asset.
• Experience in commercial, institutional, or multi-family construction.
• Proficient with Procore, Fieldwire, PlanGrid or similar platforms.
• Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean record.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot electrical systems in commercial projects.
• Read blueprints and electrical drawings per BC Electrical Code.
• Coordinate daily crew activities and ensure safety and quality.
• Provide day-to-day direction and training to apprentices and junior electricians.
• Communicate site progress to Foreperson and Project Manager.
• Assist with material planning and inventory on site.
• Inspect work and ensure turnover readiness.
• Promote a safe work environment per WorkSafeBC.

What You’ll Do

As an Electrical Journeyperson / Lead Hand at TDR Electric, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality electrical installations while helping drive project success in the field.

Journeyperson Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment in commercial, institutional, and mixed-use projects.
• Read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, specifications, project schedules, and the BC Electrical Code to ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently.
• Coordinate daily work activities for assigned crew members and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to specification.
• Provide day-to-day direction, training, and support to apprentices and junior electricians.
• Monitor productivity, workmanship, and quality standards within assigned work areas.
• Assist the Foreperson with work planning, material organization, manpower coordination, and project execution.
• Prepare and communicate material requirements to support project schedules and productivity.
• Communicate site conditions, progress updates, manpower requirements, and potential issues to the Foreperson or Project Manager.
• Coordinate work with other trades and project stakeholders to minimize disruptions and maintain project schedules.
• Support field documentation, inspections, deficiency tracking, and project management software updates as required.
• Assist with inventory management, material tracking, and organization of tools and equipment on site.
• Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met and work areas are clean, organized, and ready for turnover.
• Promote and maintain a safe work environment by complying with company policies, WorkSafeBC requirements, site-specific safety procedures, and applicable legislation.
• Identify and address hazards, unsafe conditions, and safety concerns, escalating issues to the Foreperson as required.
• Act as a mentor and role model for apprentices by demonstrating professionalism, accountability, quality workmanship, and safe work practices.

Acting Foreperson Responsibilities

• When the Foreperson is absent, the Lead Hand will:
• Serve as the primary site contact for the Client, General Contractor, Site Superintendent, and other project stakeholders.
• Attend and lead required safety meetings and toolbox talks.
• Coordinate daily work activities and ensure delegated tasks are completed as planned.
• Provide site updates, progress reports, and manpower requirements to the Project Manager.
• Support workforce coordination and maintain communication between the project team and field staff.
• Ensure site operations continue safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project expectations.

Qualifications

• Red Seal Certification in Electrical (required)
• Experience as a Journeyperson Electrician, with Lead Hand experience considered an asset
• Commercial, institutional, or multi-family construction experience
• Strong ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and construction documents
• Proficient in conduit installation, electrical distribution, equipment installation, and layout
• Experience coordinating work with other trades to maintain project schedules
• Comfortable using digital construction tools such as Procore, Fieldwire, PlanGrid, or similar platforms
• Valid Class 5 driver's licence with a clean driving record
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Committed to safety, quality workmanship, and continuous improvement
• Experience mentoring apprentices or supporting less experienced team members is considered an asset
