Job summary

DYNAMO in Canada is seeking a field services engineer to join our team, contributing to engineering consulting and field operations. You will handle in-house design and study work, plus hands-on project construction, commissioning, preventative maintenance, and field testing.

You will read electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation drawings, support clients, and travel to meet timelines. A technical diploma or degree and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in a technical field related to electrical or mechanical disciplines.
• Experience with field service and client interactions is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical/mechanical/instrumentation drawings.

Responsibilities

• Design, inspect, commission, test, maintain and repair electrical power and control systems, generators, transformers, breakers, protection relays and other equipment.
• Read technical electrical, mechanical and instrumentation drawings.
• Act as point of contact for clients and maintain client relationships.
• Provide field services and support to internal/external clients.
• Support operations and reliability engineering for industrial and utility clients.
• Write proposals and technical reports related to studies or service calls.
• Oversee and manage small projects.

Some of your responsibilities may include:

Position Requirements

• Diploma or degree from a post-secondary education institute in a technical field (electrical or mechanical related) which allows for professional affiliations.
• Specialized expertise of a particular area in your field of practice.
• Time management and organizational skills to balance field and office work commitments.
• Willing to travel and work extensive hours to maintain strict timelines.
• Solid understanding of the business and client environment.
• Physically fit to lift and move heavy items up to 50 lbs.
• Valid driver's license.
• Physical fitness test and drug and alcohol test will be required.
