Overview

Based in Toronto, ON, this role involves developing plans and profiles for overhead lines and underground cables, assisting in design and estimating, and ensuring compliance with standards. The position requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

1. Develop plan and profile drawings of overhead lines and underground cable installation details for distribution networks.
2. Create conduit and trench layout plans for underground cables.
3. Assist in preparing Scope of Work using planning specifications.
4. Perform estimates and prepare material requisitions and specifications.
5. Prepare Bills of Materials and Cable Schedules.
6. Coordinate with peers and other disciplines to ensure accurate and timely delivery.
7. Adhere to industry standards, policies, and good engineering practices.
8. Maintain positive working relationships with internal teams.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience in Transmission and Distribution engineering.
• Knowledge of North American codes such as IEEE and ANSI.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bentley MicroStation, ProjectWise, and document management systems.
• Experience with Hydro One and Toronto Hydro standards.
• Familiarity with software like SpiderCalc and Cable Pull Planner 3000 is a plus.
• Strong communication skills.
