Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
  • 10+ years of engineering experience with at least 3+ years in a leadership or management capacity in pro audio or related industry.
  • Proven track record in leading successful product development programs in professional loudspeakers or related technologies.
  • Familiarity with ERP/PLM systems and manufacturing processes, including materials, tolerances, and vendor communication.
  • Ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on technical involvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Electrical Engineering team in design, development, prototyping, testing, and validation of electronics products, ensuring innovation, performance, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Oversee all technical aspects of the electronics product lifecycle, from design and prototyping through production, quality and failure analysis.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Sales & Marketing and Supply Chain to align technical deliverables with business needs.
  • Mentor and manage a team of engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Review and approve design files, BOMs, test reports, and manufacturing specifications.
  • Own design-for-manufacturing (DFM) practices and drive improvements in product quality, cost-efficiency, and production readiness.
  • Evaluate and adopt new tools, methodologies, and technologies to improve production capabilities and engineering workflows.

At our facility in Port Perry, we employ a large staff of Mechanical, Acoustical, Software and Electrical engineers who utilize cutting edge tools and techniques to develop industry leading professional audio products. Our large, vertically integrated manufacturing facility offers our team the benefit of rapid prototyping and the ability to not compromise on design.

From ideation, simulation, prototyping to production, the engineering team is the core of what we do. Our team of motivated professionals work together to advance the technology currently available in the market.

We are currently hiring an Electrical Engineering Manager who will play a critical role in driving the design, development, and delivery of Adamson’s next‑generation professional products. This role exists to bridge deep technical expertise with strategic leadership, ensuring engineering excellence, cross‑functional alignment, and timely execution of our product roadmap.

This position is central to upholding Adamson’s legacy of innovation and precision in the pro audio industry, by ensuring that every product not only meets world‑class acoustic performance standards but is also designed for manufacturing, durability, and field reliability.

Responsibilities
  • Support and collaborate with the Head of Product and Technology in executing the product roadmap and long‑term R&D strategy.
  • Lead the Electrical Engineering team in the design, development, prototyping, testing, and validation of electronics products, ensuring innovation, performance, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Oversee all technical aspects of the electronics product lifecycle, from design and prototyping, through production, quality and failure analysis.
  • Ensure seamless cross‑functional collaboration with Production, Sales & Marketing and Supply Chain, to align technical deliverables with business needs.
  • Mentor and manage a team of engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Review and approve technical documentation such as design files, BOMs, test reports, and manufacturing specifications.
  • Own the implementation of design‑for‑manufacturing (DFM) practices and drive improvements in product quality, cost‑efficiency, and production readiness.
  • Evaluate and adopt new tools, methodologies, and technologies to improve production capabilities and engineering workflows.
Skills Required
  • Strong leadership, team‑building, and people management skills with a hands‑on approach to technical problem‑solving.
  • Expertise in Class‑D Amplification, SMPS, PFC, DSP and Networked Audio will be an asset.
  • Proficient in Altium, LtSpice and other design tools.
  • Deep understanding of the end‑to‑end product development cycle—from concept to mass production.
  • Strong grasp of engineering project management methodologies.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of bridging technical and business discussions effectively.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining high technical and quality standards.
