Job description

North America Construction (1993) Ltd. – NAC Constructors Ltd. (NAC) is well known for our expertise in water and wastewater construction across Canada. Our self-performing team of almost 500 skilled professionals and experts in trades and engineering comprehensively handles projects from conceptualization to delivery. We also have extensive experience in civil, structural, process mechanical, building mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation work. NAC is currently seeking an Electrical Engineering Coordinator to join our team at our ROPEC Electrical Reliability project in Ottawa, Ontario.

Reporting to the Project Manager, the successful candidate will interact regularly with project site teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong knowledge of electrical processes and standards, with proven ability to coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors.

Job Description
  1. Assist with electrical coordination for all aspects of the project.
  2. Incorporate addendums, RFIs, CRXs, etc., into drawings and specifications as required.
  3. Review estimates and project scope to provide a bill of materials and project equipment control logs.
  4. Aid in the technical review of submittals and workplace planning.
  5. Assist in project change management tasks, such as reviewing scope changes and preparing bills of materials with costs.
  6. Prepare electrical and commissioning schedule data for integration into overall project schedules.
  7. Be knowledgeable about all facets of electrical startup and commissioning activities, including scope, drawings, specifications, planning, expediting, and resource scheduling.
  8. Support the project team in creating RFIs and see the process through to completion.
  9. Communicate ideas for process improvements with a positive and constructive attitude.
  10. Prepare job status reports and other reports as required for senior management.
  11. Obtain field experience by assisting trade superintendents and project management in the field, as required.
  12. Understand NAC’s Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures as outlined in the HSE Manual.
Requirements
  1. Detailed understanding of electrical drawings, codes, and standards.
  2. Strong knowledge of process integration and communication controls.
  3. Ability to coordinate electrical subcontractors and participate in work sequencing plans.
  4. Background in construction electrical, instrumentation, and commissioning.
  5. Proficiency with drawings and specifications.
  6. Ability to procure materials and track costs.
  7. Strong administrative and communication skills.
  8. Accuracy and attention to detail.
  9. Knowledge of motor control, fire alarms, HVAC, and PLCs.
