Job summary

Discovery’s Kidd Operations in Timmins, Ontario, is seeking an Electrical Engineering Co-op for a 12-month Winter 2027 placement. Based at the mine site, you will report to the Maintenance Engineering Department and contribute to engineering projects in a fast-paced mining environment.

Responsibilities include supporting a Ventilation on Demand Automation Project, assisting with EARs, helping manage the document database, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Be currently enrolled in an Engineering program at a recognized Canadian university.
• Demonstrate the ability to excel in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Possess proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Hold legal authorization to work in Canada.
• Preference will be given to candidates with a background in Automation or relevant experience in Electrical Engineering applications.

• Investigating and resolving Engineering Assistance Requests (EARs) in compliance with industry standards.

• Assisting with general office tasks and other responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor.

Discovery’s Kidd Operations has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineering Co-op.

The Position:

Located in Timmins, Ontario, Kidd Operations consists of Mine and Concentrator sites focused on developing and sustaining economic mining plans for its ore body. The mine extends to a depth of 3.01 km (9,889 ft), making Kidd the world’s deepest base-metal mine.

Kidd Operations is now accepting resumes from Electrical Engineering students for co-op placements (12-months) beginning this Winter or as soon as possible.
