The Mosaic Company is recruiting a Electrical Engineer/Technologist Co-op Student for Summer 2027 at the Esterhazy potash site in Saskatchewan. The role focuses on power and infrastructure systems within an active underground mining operation, with housing/relocation available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled: third year level or above by May 2027 pursuing a bachelor's in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or completed 1st year of Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology Diploma.
  • Ability to function in an industrial chemical and mining environment.
  • 1-2 years of volunteering or related work experience preferred.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license; travel to sites/offices required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical drawing redlines and field audits for power, communication/network, and control systems to ensure documentation accuracy.
  • Assist with and lead switching sequences and lockout procedures during maintenance shutdowns and outages.
  • Support major upcoming electrical projects, including hoist and MCC upgrades, underground grid expansions, substation replacements, and long-term power studies.
  • Communicate with management, plant operators, engineers, tradespersons, and contractors.
