Job summary

Gold Land Architects and Engineers is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. You will design, coordinate, and document electrical systems for new construction and renovations, working with architects, mechanical engineers, and other consultants to deliver integrated, code-compliant designs.

The role requires strong knowledge of building systems, load calculations, lighting design, and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years of building electrical design experience (consulting preferred).
• Proficient in AutoCAD; Revit experience is a strong asset.
• Familiar with Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC) and Ontario Building Code (OBC) and CSA standards for life safety.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for residential, commercial, and mixed-use buildings.
• Prepare electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Perform load calculations, lighting design, power distribution, circuiting, fire alarm and security system design, and generator sizing.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (OBC, OESC, CSA, etc).
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams and external stakeholders.
• Conduct site visits, reviews, and support construction phase services.
• Assist in preparing permit documentation and responding to authority comments.

We are seeking a motivated Electrical Design Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design and delivery of high-quality electrical systems across a diverse portfolio of projects.

About the Role

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, coordination, and documentation of electrical systems for new construction and renovation. You will work closely with architects, mechanical engineers, and other consultants to deliver integrated, code-compliant, and efficient designs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for residential, commercial, and mixed-use buildings
• Prepare electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications using AutoCAD and/or Revit
• Perform load calculations, lighting design, power distribution, circuiting, fire alarm and security system design, and generator sizing
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (OBC, OESC, CSA, etc)
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams and external stakeholders
• Conduct site visits, reviews, and support construction phase services
• Assist in preparing permit documentation and responding to authority comments

Work Location

The expected pay range for this role is $60,000 - 100,000 CAD per year.
