Our client, a well-established engineering services provider in the energy sector, is currently seeking an Intermediate Electrical Engineer to join their growing team in Calgary. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and technically strong professional with experience in medium and high voltage electrical systems design, field support, and project execution.

You'll be contributing to a wide variety of power and industrial projects, supporting everything from design and drafting to commissioning and client interaction.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate all aspects of electrical engineering on assigned projects, including design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
2. Develop and review technical documentation such as:
3. Electrical drawings and layouts
4. Single Line Diagrams (SLDs)
5. Cable and conduit schedules
6. Technical specifications and contract documents
7. Perform and validate electrical calculations and analysis.
8. Conduct power systems studies (e.g., arc flash) using ETAP or SKM software.
9. Support the preparation of engineering reports and design reviews under the guidance of senior engineers.
10. Apply standard engineering techniques and judgment in solving technical issues.
11. Provide input and recommendations to project teams and support internal drafting resources.
12. Ensure compliance with workplace safety protocols and maintain professional client interactions.

What our client is looking For:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Registration as a P.Eng. in Alberta (APEGA).
• 4–8 years of experience in industries such as utilities, power generation, processing, or mining.
• Proficient in the use of ETAP or similar electrical engineering software.
• Strong knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code; international standards knowledge is a plus.

Experience with:

• Medium voltage systems (4.16kV to 25kV)
• High voltage systems (138kV to 240kV)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Problem-solving mindset and collaborative attitude.
• Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
