A leading company in Saint John seeks an Electrical Engineer to join their Engineering Services team. You will work on diverse projects, providing technical support and design engineering. The role includes supervising junior staff and ensuring project scope is met while adhering to safety standards. As an Electrical Engineer within our Engineering Services team, you will be working alongside a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and designers on a wide variety of capital and expense projects at our Home Office in Saint John, NB, in support of our safety, efficiency, reliability, production, and energy transition goals. You will be an integral part of the team, responsible for detailed design engineering activities, day-to-day technical support, long term planning initiatives and strategic projects.

Your Responsibilities:
Supervise and develop junior team members including Engineers, Technicians and Technologists
Check the work of others including designs, calculations and cost estimates
Assist with commissioning of engineering systems at construction sites or industrial sites
Develop expertise in given field and provide customer service as a key contact in the area
Responsible for electrical project scope for entire project lifecycle
Fully utilize, engage and maintain external contacts and experts
Have a high degree of understanding of current technology issues within their field
Contribute to budget allocation/responsibility for budgeting

Ability to make binding decisions on technical matters of consequence after reviewing relevant documents
Work effectively within a team, sharing experience, and knowledge, coaching and training less experienced engineers, and providing a clear direction to junior team members
Strong sense of ownership and accountability from conception to completion with no or limited supervision
Able to work in the field: this includes working in year-round weather conditions, able to bend, climb, stoop, kneel, crawl, etc. and able to lift up to 20lbs. You must be comfortable with high elevation climbing, working at heights, and in enclosed spaces. You must be able to wear full PPE as required by safety standards
Your Experience:
University bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, knowledge of complex engineering processes and designing procedures and policies
Familiar with the Canadian Electrical Code and other various industry standards and best practices (IEEE, API)
P.Eng. designation or eligibility required
Minimum 5-8 years’ experience in engineering discipline
