Job summary

Stantec, a global engineering leader, seeks an Electrical Designer to join our Markham/Mississauga team. You will design electrical systems for infrastructure, transportation and transit projects, including power distribution, lighting, traffic signals and EV charging stations.

You will work with Senior Engineers and Project Managers to deliver safe, reliable designs and ensure regulatory compliance. Ideal candidates have a technologist degree or equivalent, 5+ years in electrical systems

Qualifications

Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD and MicroStation for electrical design.
Experience with ETAP and lighting design software is preferred.
Technologist diploma or bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology; EIТ/PE eligibility in Ontario.

Responsibilities

Participate in feasibility studies related to electrification of transit networks.
Design electrical substations, emergency power distribution, lighting, and charging stations.
Prepare technical memos and reports to communicate results and recommendations.
Coordinate with project teams, clients, regulators and contractors.
Create drawings and specifications including single-line diagrams and wiring diagrams.
Perform short circuit, arc flash and protection studies using ETAP or similar tools.
Conduct fieldwork and ensure compliance with electrical codes and standards.
