Job summary

CIMA+ in Edmonton is seeking an Intermediate Electrical Engineer to join our Buildings team. You will design and deliver electrical systems for a range of Alberta projects, collaborating with engineers, technologists and discipline leads.

This role blends technical design, project coordination, and field support, including site visits and construction review. Hybrid work with a Edmonton office and flexible hours is offered, with opportunities to mentor others and grow within a Canada-wide

Qualifications

• Eligible for APEGA P.Eng. or P.L.Eng. membership.
• 6+ years of electrical engineering experience in buildings.
• Strong client service and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
• Valid Canadian driver’s license and willingness to travel to sites.
• Mentoring junior staff is an asset.
• Integrity, teamwork, and commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems for buildings (lighting, power, communications, security, and fire alarm).
• Prepare electrical designs, drawings, and models using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Perform design calculations and assist with equipment selection and layouts.
• Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, mechanical, and structural disciplines.
• Conduct site visits and provide construction support across Alberta.
• Participate in project meetings and collaborate with clients, contractors, and project teams.
• Support proposal preparation and contribute to project planning activities.
• Continued professional development and mentoring of junior staff.
• Engage with clients to understand project needs and maintain relationships.
• Contribute to the growth of the Edmonton Buildings practice.
