Job summary

TBC Fabrication is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to contribute to the development and optimization of electrical systems in a modular prefabrication setting. You will ensure performance, safety, and compliance of electrical installations in modular units and production equipment.

You will perform load calculations, design room layouts, and develop distribution diagrams while ensuring all designs meet CSA safety standards and OIQ requirements.

Qualifications

• University degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Thorough knowledge of electrical safety standards in manufacturing (CSA).
• OIQ membership is required or preferred.
• Strong analytical skills to diagnose and solve complex technical problems.

Responsibilities

Job description

Reporting directly to the engineering director, the electrical engineer contributes to the development and optimization of electrical systems in a modular prefabrication environment. They will be responsible for ensuring the performance, safety and compliance of the electrical installations of the modular units and production equipment.

The role of our electrical engineer:

Perform electrical load calculations and size the equipment and components needed to meet project requirements.

Design the layout of mechanical and electrical rooms, including the optimal arrangement of equipment and electrical circuits.

Develop electrical distribution diagrams, ensuring efficient and safe power distribution for the installations.

Identify, analyze and select components and suppliers based on technical specifications.

Review and approve drawings and technical documents, and sign and seal drawings in accordance with OIQ requirements.

Work closely with engineers and other professionals to ensure electrical systems are integrated into projects.

Ensure that all designs and installations comply with safety codes and industry standards.

University degree in electrical engineering or a related field.

Member of the OIQ.

Minimum of 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

Thorough knowledge of the standards and codes for electrical safety in the manufacturing sector (e.g. CSA).

Analytical skills to diagnose and solve complex technical problems.
