Job summary

Jump! recruiters are seeking an Electrical Engineer in Quebec to join a fast-growing engineering firm on a hybrid schedule in Quebec City or Montreal. You will contribute to design, calculations, and coordination across building and infrastructure projects.

You will work with cross-disciplinary teams, ensure compliance with Quebec codes, and mentor junior staff while advancing design standards and innovative tools. This role offers a competitive compensation package and a flexible schedule.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
  • Member of the OIQ is required.
  • Experience designing electrical systems for buildings or infrastructure.
  • Proficient with Quebec codes and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Design and coordinate electrical systems for buildings and infrastructure.
  • Perform calculations for sizing and performance of electrical installations.
  • Prepare, review, and approve plans, diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, structural, architectural, and construction teams for integration.
  • Participate in site surveys, construction visits, and coordination meetings.
  • Review shop drawings, change requests, and equivalency proposals.
  • Identify challenges and propose solutions aligned with project objectives.
  • Mentor and support Engineers-in-Training (EITs).
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of design standards and tools.

Key Responsibilities

As an Electrical Engineer, you will be involved throughout the entire project lifecycle, from design through commissioning.

  • Design and coordinate electrical systems for buildings and complex infrastructure projects;
  • Perform engineering calculations required for the sizing and performance of electrical installations;
  • Prepare, review, and approve plans, specifications, single-line diagrams, and technical documentation;
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and regulations;
  • Collaborate with mechanical, structural, architectural, and construction teams to ensure optimal systems integration;
  • Participate in site surveys, construction site visits, and coordination meetings;
  • Review shop drawings, change requests, and equivalency proposals;
  • Identify technical challenges and recommend solutions aligned with project objectives;
  • Mentor and support technicians and Engineers-in-Training (EITs);
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of design standards, processes, and technological tools.
Profile Sought
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering;
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ);
  • Experience designing electrical systems for buildings or infrastructure projects;
  • Strong knowledge of applicable Quebec codes and standards;
  • Proficiency with design and coordination tools such as Revit;
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills;
  • Collaborative mindset, autonomy, and sound professional judgment;
  • Strong interest in innovation, continuous improvement, and value-added projects.

Compensation

A compensation package aligned with your responsibilities and experience:

$80,000 to $130,000, complemented by a comprehensive range of competitive benefits.
