National Research Council Canada is seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead design across institutional, commercial, and industrial facilities. The role emphasizes electrical system design, compliance with codes, and collaboration with multiple disciplines on complex projects.
The position requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and at least five years of relevant experience, with strong AutoCAD skills and project management capabilities. Hybrid work is available with travel as needed.

Work arrangements: Due to the nature of the work and operational requirements, this position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement (combination of working onsite and telework). Employees in this position who telework will be required to travel to the identified work site at least three (3) times per week at their own expense.

Applicants must demonstrate within the content of their application that they meet the following screening criteria in order to be given further consideration as candidates:
Bachelor’s degree in an accredited* Electrical Engineering program.
*An accredited engineering program consist of studies in engineering leading to a bachelor’s degree (or higher level) that fulfills the academic requirements for licensure with Canada’s engineering regulators per the rules and practices set forth and administered by Engineers Canada .
Membership in a provincial engineering association, Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) / Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) in Quebec etc. will be considered an asset.
* Significant experience is defined as a minimum of five (5) years of experience.
** Recent experience is defined as within the last two (2) years.

The intent of this hiring action is to staff this position at the RCO-2/RCO-3 level, which is a mid-career level position with a salary range of $83,985 to $139,608.
NOTE: Please note that the full RO/RCO salary scale has five levels. Salary determination will be based on a review of the candidate’s expertise, outcomes and impacts of their previous work experience relative to the requirements of the level. As such, the initial salary could be within another level of the RO/RCO salary scale (i.e. above or below the intended level for this position).
In addition, the incumbent who meets the language requirements will receive the Bilingualism Bonus of $800 per year.
