Day In The Life
  • Support the Automation team by designing, integrating, and managing automation, IIOT, and electrical engineering projects.
  • Lead engineering deliverables, including project scheduling, feasibility studies, standards development, and best practices.
  • Design low‑voltage power systems and produce detailed engineering documentation, drawings, and red‑line revisions.
  • Develop and execute testing, commissioning, QA, and acceptance processes, including building test benches for new products.
  • Collaborate with engineering, field, IT, and third‑party partners, provide guidance to junior engineers, and travel to field locations as required (up to 10%). A valid driver's license is required.
What We Need From You
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent, with 2–5 years of relevant experience; field experience strongly preferred.
  • Professional registration as P.Eng or EIT in good standing with APEGA required.
  • Strong understanding of modern drilling rigs, applicable standards, and the practical application of automation and electrical technologies.
  • Hands‑on experience with AutoCAD Electrical, PLCs, distributed control systems, industrial communications, and IP networking; experience with ABB drives, Amphion, AC rigs, and programming languages (JavaScript, Python) is an asset.
  • Strong communicator with a continuous‑learning mindset and the ability to adapt to new technologies in a collaborative engineering environment.
