Job summary

Innovative Automation Inc. in Barrie, Ontario, is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Lead to manage the Electrical Design team delivering high-quality automation solutions.

You will shape design standards and work closely with Engineering and Operations leadership to ensure project success. The role emphasizes mentorship, hands-on problem solving, and balancing technical direction with people development, within a growing automation environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience leading technical teams in automation projects.
• Strong problem-solving and design review skills.
• Familiarity with safety and quality standards in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the Electrical Design team in daily prioritization and technical guidance.
• Drive design execution from concept through validation while ensuring safety and quality.
• Develop talent and leadership bench strength within the team.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering and Operations to ensure project delivery.
• Ensure designs meet customer requirements and project commitments on scope, schedule, and quality.

• Proven ability tolead, coach, and develop technical teams
• Comfortable balancinghands-on problem solving with leadership responsibilities
• Passion forbuilding robust, practical, buildable designs
• MinimumDegree or Diploma in Electrical Engineeringor Equivalent Specialized Experience
• Minimum5+ Years’ Experiencewithin the Automation or Automotive Manufacturing Field
• Preference given to candidate holdingPEO (Professional Engineers of Ontario)Designation
