Job summary

The Mosaic Company in Colonsay, Saskatchewan is seeking an Underground Electrical Engineer to lead capital projects and support safe, reliable underground mining operations. You will oversee electrical infrastructure from 600V to 13.8kV and provide automation, protection, and control expertise.

Qualified candidates have a P.Eng. with APEGS and 8+ years of leadership in related roles; alternative Engineer III with 4+ years is considered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• P.Eng. designation with APEGS is required or in-progress.
• 4+ years of related underground electrical experience for Engineer III.
• 8+ years of related experience with leadership for Senior Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Lead underground electrical capital projects from planning through installation.
• Provide electrical engineering, automation, controls, and communications support.
• Serve as the subject matter expert for electrical infrastructure from 600V to 13.8kV, including protection and control systems.
• Coordinate power system studies and maintain system models.
• Identify reliability improvement opportunities through troubleshooting, root cause analysis, PM/PdM optimization, and asset management initiatives.
• Support maintenance planning, audits, inspections, permitting, lockout/tagout procedures, and contractor oversight.
• Partner with Operations, Maintenance, and Reliability teams to improve asset performance, safety, and operational efficiency.

The Mosaic Company, a global leader in phosphate and potash production, is seeking an Underground Electrical Engineer to support safe, reliable, and efficient underground mining operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead underground electrical capital projects from planning through installation.


• Provide electrical engineering, automation, controls, and communications support.


• Serve as the subject matter expert for electrical infrastructure from 600V to 13.8kV, including protection and control systems.


• Coordinate power system studies and maintain system models.


• Identify reliability improvement opportunities through troubleshooting, root cause analysis, PM/PdM optimization, and asset management initiatives.


• Support maintenance planning, audits, inspections, permitting, lockout/tagout procedures, and contractor oversight.

• Experience with PLCs, DCS/DeltaV, SCADA, CMMS, and power system modeling software is preferred.


• Underground mining, instrumentation, project management, and reliability certification experience are assets.
