Job summary

Silent-Aire, a division of Johnson Controls, seeks a Junior Electrical Designer or Engineer-in-Training to develop electrical designs for data center applications, including HVAC equipment and modular data centers. You will work in the North American electrical engineering group under the Electrical Design Manager, contributing to specifications, drawings, BOMs, and testing.

Qualifications

• Electrical design training and/or degree; licensed/registered with ASET or APEGA.
• Experience in electrical design, drafting or manufacturing environments (entry level).
• Familiarity with NEC/CEC, UL/CSA related to low/medium voltage design.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; proficient with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Interpret client specs and translate into electrical design drawings (schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts).
• Perform electrical calculations (MCA, MOP) and assist with testing; troubleshoot issues.
• Prepare BOMs, cost estimates, and design submittals; update drawings and BOMs as needed.
• Ensure compliance with Silent-Aire standards and electrical coding requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support design, manufacturing, and commissioning.
