Job summary

Silent-Aire, a division of Johnson Controls, seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical systems design for data center cooling projects in Edmonton. You will oversee CDUs, MDCs, and HVAC solutions, coordinate across engineering disciplines, and drive design development from concept through testing and documentation.

The role partners with cross-functional teams to review performance, develop SOPs, and ensure compliance with industry standards while mentoring engineers and accelerating

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• P.Eng. designation preferred.
• 6+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
• HVAC/refrigeration experience in data centers preferred.
• Leadership of multidisciplinary teams expected.

Responsibilities

• Lead design teams and mentor engineers.
• Provide mechanical design for HVAC, MDC, and CDU equipment.
• Design liquid cooling systems and assess single- and two-phase cooling.
• Oversee project execution, estimation support, and documentation.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, QA, and supply chain to optimize performance.
