Job summary

CIMA+ in Vancouver is seeking an Electrical Drafter/Designer to join our Infrastructure group. You will contribute to power distribution designs, prepare drawings, and support I&C layouts for SCADA projects, collaborating with engineers and designers across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, technologist diploma, or drafting certificate.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary design team to develop electrical power distribution designs.
• Prepare single-line diagrams, site power layouts, overcurrent protection, lighting layouts, and power distribution plans.
• Support development of I&C designs for SCADA systems, including P&IDs, control panels, and network diagrams.
• Assist in preparing designs, calculations, plans, specifications, and reports for industrial facilities, focusing on mine sites.
• Participate in fieldwork and site visits for investigations, studies, inspections, and reviews of electrical distribution and I&C shop drawings.

We are currently looking for an Electrical Drafter/Designer to join our growing Infrastructure group in Vancouver. This role offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic team, contributing to a variety of projects across. This role will be based in our Vancouver office.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary design team, working under the guidance of the Project Manager and Lead Electrical Engineer.
• Assist in the development of electrical power distribution system designs, including single-line diagrams, site power layouts, overcurrent protection, emergency power generation, lighting layouts, and power distribution plans.
• Support the development of Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) designs for SCADA systems, including control panels, P&IDs, process control narratives, I/O lists, instrument selections, network diagrams, and communication panels.
• Assist in preparing designs, calculations, plans, specifications, calculations, and reports for industrial facilities, particularly for mine sites, focusing on power distribution, motor controls, lighting, communications, and security systems.
• Participate in fieldwork and site visits, assisting with investigations, studies, inspections, and reviews of electrical distribution and I&C shop drawings, as well as life safety and communications systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, technologist diploma, or drafting certificate.
• Experience with AutoCAD
• New Graduate and/or 1-3 years of electrical engineering experience.
• Knowledgeable of electrical power distribution systems and I&C designs.
• Familiarity with site work, detailed design, and project engineering within a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication skills and a desire to learn and grow within the engineering field.
• Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for site visits.
