Qualifications

- Familiar with electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts and BOMs.
- Proficient with AutoCAD Electrical/AutoCAD and knowledge of control panel design.
Responsibilities
- Revise electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, single-line diagrams, control panel layouts, cable drawings, and BOMs.
- Develop detailed as-built manufacturing drawing packages for Industrial Control Panels (ICPs) and PLC panels.
- Convert engineering concepts and field redlines into accurate CAD drawings.
- Create panel layouts including component placement, wireway sizing, and enclosure selection.
- Develop and maintain project documentation, drawing registers, revision control, and manufacturing instructions.
- Produce and maintain BOMs including panel components, field devices, instrumentation, and networking equipment.
- Coordinate with engineers, instrumentation specialists, procurement, and production teams to resolve design issues.
- Work with fabrication shops and manufacturers to address questions and incorporate feedback.
- Perform drawing quality reviews and ensure compliance with codes and standards.

- Revise electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, single-line diagrams, control panel layouts, cable drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for industrial automation and control systems.
- Develop detailed as-built manufacturing drawing packages for Industrial Control Panels (ICPs), PLC control panels, remote I/O panels, marshalling panels, and junction boxes based on existing prototypes.
- Convert engineering concepts, markups, sketches, specifications, and field redlines into accurate CAD drawings.
- Create panel layouts including component placement, wireway sizing, clearance verification, heat dissipation considerations, and enclosure selection.
- Develop and maintain project documentation, drawing registers, revision control records, manufacturing instructions, and assembly procedures.
- Produce and maintain BOMs including panel components, field devices, instrumentation, networking equipment.
- Coordinate with electrical engineers, controls engineers, instrumentation specialists, mechanical designers, procurement, and production teams to resolve design and documentation issues.
- Work closely with panel fabrication shops and outsourced manufacturers to address technical questions and incorporate manufacturing feedback.
- Perform drawing quality reviews and ensure compliance with project specifications, customer standards, and applicable electrical codes.
- 3+ years of experience drafting industrial PLC control panels, design experience preferred.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical/AutoCAD and strong knowledge of industrial control panel design, manufacturing practices.
- Familiarity with electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, cable schedules, BOMs, revision control processes, and engineering documentation.
- Ability to interpret electrical specifications, with strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards, including UL 508A, CSA C22.2 No. 286, CSA C22.1 (CEC), CSA/UL/NEMA requirements, and hazardous location standards.
- Experience drafting industrial control panels, or automation systems, with exposure to PLC's, HMIs, instrumentation, and control technologies.
- Experience producing electrical schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and Bill of Materials (BOMs).
- Experience working in industries such as Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, or Renewable Energy is considered an asset.
- Previous experience in roles such as Electrical Designer, Industrial Control Panel Designer, Control Systems Designer, Instrumentation Designer, or related fields considered an asset.
- Diploma in electrical engineering or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree would be considered an asset.
