SBM is seeking an Intermediate Electrical Designer to join our London, Ontario team. The role focuses on design and drafting of electrical systems for diverse buildings, collaborating with engineers to produce permit/construction drawings that meet codes.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or Architectural Technology.
• CET designation (or eligible).
• Minimum 4+ years of relevant experience in building systems design.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical design software (e.g. AGi32).
• Strong understanding of power distribution, lighting, life safety, and communication systems.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.

Responsibilities

• Design and drafting of electrical systems for buildings across sectors (residential, commercial, institutional, industrial).
• Prepare permit and construction drawings meeting codes and standards.
• Collaborate with internal disciplines and external stakeholders to meet design objectives and deadlines.
• Mentor junior electrical designers and interns.
• Support initiatives to improve current design processes and workflows.
• Occasional site visits to gain practical insight and provide feedback.
