Job summary

Smith + Andersen seeks an Electrical Designer for our Toronto office to contribute to intelligent integrated systems across building projects. You will engage in system design, technical analysis, and coordination with architects and consultants while growing technically within a culture of mentorship and engineering excellence.

Qualifications

• Understand codes and standards for project requirements.
• Ability to communicate requirements to project teams.
• Experience coordinating with architects, consultants and contractors.
• Proficient with BIM tools for system design and documentation.
• Knowledge of CAD/Revit and MS Office is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering calculations and equipment selections with applicable codes.
• Design layouts for building systems on small to medium projects.
• Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
• Use BIM tools to support design, coordination and documentation.
• Support construction administration and site activities including shop drawings.
• Maintain quality standards and review project documentation.
• Mentor junior team members and assist with project delivery.
