Job summary

itec group in the Niagara region is seeking an experienced Electrical Designer to support industrial automation projects, focusing on electrical design, control panel layouts and documentation for custom machinery.

You will collaborate with electrical, mechanical and controls engineering teams, review designs for compliance with standards and customer specifications, and contribute to troubleshooting during build and commissioning.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in electrical design within industrial automation environments.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems and control panels.
• Experience reading and designing electrical schematics (PLCs, sensors, safety circuits).

Responsibilities

• Design electrical control systems for industrial machinery and automation equipment.
• Develop electrical schematics, panel layouts and wiring diagrams.
• Create and maintain electrical documentation and drawings.
• Design control panels, including component selection and layouts.
• Work with electrical, mechanical, controls and engineering teams.
• Review designs to ensure compliance with standards and customer specifications.
• Assist with troubleshooting and design modifications during build and commissioning.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and design standards.
