Job summary

IPS-Integrated Project Services seeks an Electrical Designer II to join our Vaughan, Ontario office. The role collaborates with designers, architects, and engineers to develop design concepts and deliver final client-ready electrical drawings that meet project specifications.

Responsibilities include assisting with design development, producing sketches and construction documents, and coordinating with vendors. Travel up to 20% may be required, and safety protocols are observed on client sites.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of previous design experience in the building design industry.
• Technical or Associate Degree in design from an accredited institution.
• Experience in AutoCAD/Revit/Navisworks.

Responsibilities

• Assists Project Lead with design development and documentation.
• Uses CAD technologies to develop sketches, drawings, and construction documents.
• Reviews drawings to ensure compliance with design and production standards.
• Sets up views/sheets in Revit or AutoCAD for project use, following naming conventions.
• Coordinates with equipment suppliers/vendors for design information.
• Interacts with clients on a limited basis to confirm scope and design intent.
• Performs basic engineering calculations such as motor feeder sizing and voltage drop.
• Ensures quality and coordination reflect design intent across disciplines.
• Attends job/construction meetings and participates in coordination of work.
