Job summary

Primary's Kelowna location seeks an Electrical Designer to support electrical and civil design for 4kV–25kV distribution infrastructure. You will perform material take-offs, voltage calculations, and cable/pole modelling, coordinating with consultants and project teams to resolve conflicts on site.

Drafting and redlining in AutoCAD and Bluebeam are required, with a strong emphasis on collaboration, schedule management, and adherence to engineering standards.

Qualifications

• Engineering technologist diploma or bachelor degree in electrical/civil preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and professional relationship building.
• Self-motivated with drive for improvement.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
• Class 5 driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Electrical and civil design to support distribution infrastructure (4kV–25kV).
• Material take-offs and project estimating.
• Voltage drop and transformer loading calculations.
• Cable pull and pole modelling calculations using industry tools.
• Review consultant drawings to coordinate design and avoid conflicts.
• Site visits to inspect infrastructure and stake locations.
• Project schedule management and progress tracking.
• Research and application of engineering standards and codes.
• Collaborate with project team and external stakeholders for successful execution.
• Drafting/redlining in AutoCAD and Bluebeam.
