Job summary

Husky Technologies in Bolton, Ontario, is seeking a Designer, Development (Electrical) to lead electrical sub‑system design for automated machinery at a full-time capacity.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, 5–10 years in machinery automation, and strong design calculation skills. Occasional travel may be required as part of project execution and collaboration with global teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Proven product development experience in machinery automation.
• 5–10 years of product development experience in machinery automation.

Responsibilities

• Understand design requirements including business needs, customer discussions, internal standards, and industry regulations.
• Solve technical problems including reliability, cost constraints, and manufacturability challenges.
• Mitigate risks through failure mode analysis, risk assessment, design adjustments, and validation test planning.
• Design and deliver complete electrical sub‑systems for automated machinery.
• Power system sizing and protection; servo system sizing; control circuit design.
• 3D modeling of electrical equipment and cables on the machine, and in cabinets.
• Participate in execution of validation testing and incorporate lessons learned into future product development.
