Job summary

A multidisciplinary contractor in Burlington is looking for a Junior Electrical Designer. The ideal candidate will assist in designing machine-level power distribution systems and control system architectures. This role requires knowledge of industrial automation, including PLCs and HMIs. The candidate should have a degree in Electrical Engineering or related fields and be eager to learn. The position offers comprehensive benefits, including insurance and a retirement savings plan.

Qualifications

• Currently completing or recently completed a degree in Electrical Engineering or related technology.
• Exposure to industrial automation systems, including HMIs and PLCs.
• Familiarity with motor control equipment like starters and VFDs.
• Basic knowledge of industrial networking/protocols like Modbus TCP.
• Hands-on experience with field I/O and instrumentation devices.
• Experience with CAD tools, preferably AutoCAD.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design of machine-level power distribution systems.
• Contribute to the design of control system network architectures.
• Develop electrical panel designs including schematics and layouts.
• Perform PLC programming and HMI configuration.
• Participate in system testing and provide on-site support.
