Job summary

WSP in Canada is seeking an Electrical & Controls Designer to join the Energy & Process team across Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, or the Atlantic provinces. You will transform P&IDs into electrical drawings, develop complete package drawings, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver energy transition projects.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of electrical design experience, a diploma in electrical engineering technology, and strong AutoCAD proficiency.

Qualifications

Diploma in electrical engineering technology from a recognized institution.
5+ years of hands-on electrical design experience, preferably in consulting/EPC environments.
Experience supporting Power Generation Projects is required.

Responsibilities

Review P&IDs and transform into electrical drawings and specs.
Create complete electrical drawing packages for approval, bids, and construction.
Apply standards to RFQs, quotations, and electrical documents.
Mark up vendor drawings to meet project specs and ensure cross-discipline integration.
Provide wiring details and technical guidance to electrical contractors in the field.
Offer field support during construction to resolve issues quickly and safely.
Coordinate with mechanical, process, civil, and other teams to meet goals.
Prepare requisitions, review BOMs, and contribute to high-quality deliverables.
