Job summary

Pason in Calgary seeks an Electrical and Automation Intern for a 16‑month program from May 2027 to August 2028. You will design hardware/software solutions to support development and manufacturing of Pason products, collaborating with hardware, test and manufacturing engineers to move projects from concept to deployment.

You will gain hands‑on engineering experience by building automated systems, designing circuits/PCBs, creating software applications, and solving complex technical challenges,

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in 3rd year Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• Completion of a satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to local manufacturing partners.

Responsibilities

• Design electronic circuits and PCBs for custom automation and manufacturing applications.
• Develop automated software in LabVIEW to interact with hardware, control test equipment, and collect measurement data.
• Design, build, and deploy fixtures and systems that support development, manufacturing, and validation of Pason products.
• Take projects from concept to deployment, including requirements definition, design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with product design teams to improve manufacturability and product testability.
• Work directly with manufacturing partners to implement new processes and resolve technical challenges.
• Diagnose hardware, software, and manufacturing issues, identify root causes, and drive corrective actions.
• Work closely with electrical, firmware, and manufacturing engineers on cross-functional projects.

Pason is seeking an Electrical and Automation Intern for a 16-month internship from May 2027 to August 2028. In this role, you will design and build hardware and software solutions used to support the development and manufacturing of Pason products. Working alongside hardware, test, and manufacturing engineers, you will develop automated systems, design electronic circuits and PCBs, create software applications, and solve complex technical challenges. You will collaborate with engineering teams and manufacturing partners to take projects from concept to implementation, gaining valuable hands‑on engineering experience.

• Experience with Altium Designer or equivalent PCB design software is an asset
• Experience with LabVIEW, Python, or other engineering software tools is an asset

Education

• Currently enrolled in 3rd year studies in Electrical or Computer Engineering
