Job summary

Pason is seeking a technically skilled Designer to create electrical drawings and design packages for oil field equipment. You will use AutoCAD to prepare drawings for contract manufacturers and update assembly procedures and BOMs for outsourced production.

Ideal candidates are currently in the 3rd year of Electrical/Computer or Electronics Engineering, with strong attention to detail and a solid grasp of industry standards.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in 3rd year Electrical and Computer or Electronics Engineering.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD is essential.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
• Familiarity with industry standards and documentation practices.

Responsibilities

• Create drawings and design packages for oil field equipment.
• Prepare electrical drawings for contract manufacturers using AutoCAD.
• Write and modify assembly procedures and BOMs for outsourced manufacturing.
• Ensure precision of dimensions, parts, and specifications in drawings.
• Collaborate with panel and cable shops and vendors to prototype designs.
• Translate concepts into precise drawings meeting industry standards.
• Support engineers from R&D Hardware and field technicians.
• Refine designs with engineers and clients based on feedback.

• Work with the manufacturing teams, contract manufacturers and peers on creating drawings and design packages for oil field equipment.


• Use AutoCAD to design and prepare Electrical drawings for contract manufacturers.


• Write and modify assembly procedures and bill-of-materials tables for outsourced manufacturing.


• Ensure the accuracy and precision of dimensions, parts and specifications in the drawings.


• Work with Panel and Cable assembly shops and part vendors to establish pricing and build prototypes of designs.


• Translate concepts, sketches, and rough drafts from engineers or designers into precise technical drawings that meet industry standards and specifications.


• Provide support to engineers from the Research & Development Hardware team and field technicians.


• Work closely with electrical engineers to understand the design requirements and assist in refining concepts and technical drawings. Modify and update existing drawings based on feedback or design changes from engineers or clients.

• Strong experience with AutoCAD is required


• Strong electrical design skills (Electrical components sizing, Cable sizing and length calculations, electrical distribution, control systems, applicable Industry standards etc.) are an asset


• Strong commitment to quality


• Uploading samples of technical documents and AutoCAD files to demonstrate skills is beneficial

• Currently enrolled in 3rd year curriculum in Electrical and Computer or Electronics Engineering
