Haakon Industries in Kingston, Ontario is hiring Electrical Assemblers to wire and install electrical systems for HVAC units. You will build panels, read blueprints, install conduits and devices, and ensure quality across electrical components.

Qualifications

• Electrical 1 year experience preferred.
• Manufacturing 1 year experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Electrical Panel Assembly: Build and wire electrical panels for HVAC units, ensuring all components meet design specifications.
• Conduit Installation: Install conduit and pull wires for lighting circuits and motor power circuits, following safety protocols.
• Device Installation: Install disconnects, VFDs and other electrical devices.
• Blueprint Reading: Read and interpret blueprints to guide layout, fabrication and wiring.
• Measurement: Use tools to perform calculations, ensuring precision.
• Tool Use: Operate hand and power tools efficiently.
• Physical Labour: Work from heights, lift heavy items, and maintain pace.
• Independent Work: Complete tasks with minimal supervision.
• Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively within a team.
• Safety & Compliance: Follow PPE protocols and ETL/NEC standards.

Your Responsibilities:

• Electrical Panel Assembly: Build and wire electrical panels for HVAC units, ensuring all components meet design specifications
• Conduit Installation: Install conduit and pull wires for lighting circuits and motor power circuits, following safety protocols
• Device Installation: Install disconnects, variable frequency drives (VFDs) and other electrical devices
• Blueprint Reading: Accurately read and interpret blueprints to guide layout, fabrication and wiring
• Measurement: Use measuring tools to perform mathematical calculations, including converting fractions to decimals, to ensure precision
• Tool Use: Operate air and electric hand tools efficiently to complete tasks effectively
• Physical Labour: Work from heights, lift and carry heavy items and maintain a quick, steady pace throughout the shift
• Independent Work: Perform tasks independently with minimal supervision to meet production goals
• Team Collaboration: Work effectively in a team environment with strong verbal communication skills
• Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and maintain knowledge of ETL and NEC standards

Job Location:

• Kingston, ON (on-site)

Shift Schedule:

• Rotating early morning and afternoon shifts (Monday – Friday 5:45am - 2:15pm and Monday – Thursday 2:30pm - 12:30am)
• Every other Friday off
• Weekend shifts not required (occasional overtime is not mandatory and is dependent on factory needs)
