Job summary

Control Tech Ltd in Canada seeks a 2nd-4th Year Electrical Apprentice field technician to learn from Journeyman Electricians. You will learn to test, calibrate, install, repair, and inspect manufacturing equipment and monitoring devices.

This role requires flexibility for long hours and varying project schedules. Local Whitecourt and Fox Creek staff are preferred; crew house accommodation is available for non-local staff.

Qualifications

• 1st Year Electrical Apprentice experience or schooling completed.
• Standard First Aid/CPR with AED; H2S Alive, CSO, CSTS.
• Experience in oil and gas industry is an asset.
• Pre-employment drug and alcohol test required for safety-sensitive roles.
• Criminal background check required and background assessed for relevance.
• Clean driving record as per company standards.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and architectural drawings and electrical code specifications.
• Assist with wiring, conduit work, and circuit connections.
• Support installation, replacement, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems/equipment.
• Test circuits to ensure integrity and safety.
• Participate in safety programs and company policies; provide on-call support.
