Job summary

Control Tech is seeking an Electrician Apprentice Field Technician in Alberta. You will learn from Journeyman Electrician Field Technicians and apprentices, testing, calibrating, installing, repairing, and inspecting manufacturing equipment and monitoring devices.

Responsibilities include reading drawings, pulling and connecting wire, and assisting with electrical systems. On-call work and safety compliance are required; prior oil & gas experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Registered Apprentice preferred.
  • Oil & Gas industry experience is an asset.
  • Pre-employment drug and alcohol test required for safety-sensitive roles.
  • Criminal background check completed; relevance to position considered.
  • Clean driving record per company standards (e.g., no major violations).

Salary Range: CA$27.00 To CA$38.00 Hourly

Job Brief:

The Electrician Apprentice Field Technician will work with and learn from Journeyman Electrician Field Technicians and other apprentices. You will be shown practical skills and learn to test, calibrate, install, repair, and inspect manufacturing equipment and monitoring devices.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assists with installing, replacing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems/equipment.
  • Tests circuits to ensure integrity and safety.
  • Participation/compliance with company safety programs & company policies.
  • On-call support as required.
  • Other duties as required.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
  • Registered Apprentice, preferred.
  • High School Diploma.
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry is an asset.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug and alcohol test (required for safety-sensitive roles).
  • Completion of a criminal background check, with results assessed based on relevance to the position.
  • Verification of a clean driving record, as defined by Control Tech’s standards (e.g., no major violations, no more than 3 infractions in the past 5 years).
