Job summary

Wildstone Construction and Engineering Ltd. is recruiting a 3rd-4th year Electrical Apprentice to join our electrical team supporting water/wastewater, energy, and institutional projects.

You will learn the trade while assisting Journeyperson Electricians on new construction, modernization, and upgrade work. Expect travel to BC, Yukon, and occasionally Northwest Territories with 10-hour days in 21/7 rotations.

Qualifications

• 2nd–4th year electrical apprentice with hands-on experience on commercial, industrial, or institutional sites.
• Strong understanding of electrical circuits and reading drawings.
• Conduit bending, install lighting fixtures, glanding Teck cable, Unistrut and cable tray installation.

Responsibilities

• Work on new construction, modernization and upgrading projects.
• Assist Journeyperson Electricians and support during emergency service calls.
• Collaborate with in-house Mech/HVAC division to provide control wiring capabilities.

Job description

Wildstone is a General Contractor currently recruiting for a 3rd-4th Year Electrical Apprentice. Our electrical team supports our water/wastewater, energy, and institutional projects collaborating with our in-house Mech/HVAC division to provide control wiring capabilities. We’re looking for a motivated and highly-skilled Electrical Apprentice to join our team and grow with us!

You can expect to travel for work to various locations across BC, the Yukon, and occasionally the Northwest Territories. Our crews usually work 21/7 rotations and average 10-hour days, with travel in and out of different project sites. In this role, you’ll work independently, collaborate with skilled tradespeople, and support our Journeyperson Electricians as you learn the trade. Your responsibilities include work onnew construction projects, and modernization and upgrading projects – you’ll also handle emergency service calls.

What you will experience day to day:

• Underground and slab conduit and grounding.
• Building wiring -typically EMT, Rigid, PVC or Teck.
• Installation of power distribution switchgear, backup generators, transformers, motor control centers, PLC control panels, VFDs,pumps, and instrumentation.
• Motor control wiring, process instrument control wiring, and HVAC control wiring.
• Following the Canadian Electric Code, and BC Hydro, Fortis, and ATCO electrical standards.

We value flexibility, so you'll also be ready to take on other tasks as needed.

What we’re looking for:

• 2nd - 4th year apprentice with previous electrical experience on commercial, industrial, or institutional work sites.
• A solid understanding of electrical circuits, basic code, and reading drawings and instructions.
• Necessary Skills: Conduit bending, light fixture assembly & installation, Teck cable glanding, Unistrut & cable tray installation, electrical switchgear and equipment installation.
• Able to fulfill the physical requirements of the role.
• Experience working from ladders and at elevated heights
• A valid driver's license.
