Qualifications

Summary:

The Electric Motor Rewind Technician diagnoses, troubleshoots, repairs, and tests large AC and DC rotating electrical equipment, including motors with random or form-wound stators, rotors, and armatures. The role includes electrical and mechanical testing of repaired equipment to confirm safe operation, quality, and performance, as well as investigating failures to determine root causes and recommend fixes. Work is done as part of a team in a repair shop environment, following established safety procedures at all times.

Requirements:
  • Mechanical or electrical aptitude with a strong interest in hands-on work; any experience with AC and DC motors is considered a strong asset
  • Experience using electrical test equipment and instruments for basic to advanced testing is an asset; training can/will be provided
  • Familiarity with electro-mechanical rotating equipment such as pumps or similar machinery is an asset
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a shop environment
  • Strong interest in learning new technical skills and taking on hands-on challenges
  • Good attention to detail and a focus on doing work accurately
  • Commitment to safe work practices and following all safety procedures
