Job Description

The E-Learning Course Content Creator will build interactive modules that facilitate engaging and effective learning experiences for online learners. The successful candidate will collaborate with the Training and Implementation and Client Support Teams to ensure that the final product provides learners with an effective, engaging learning experience.

As a contract position with a hybrid format, the candidate will work 50% on-site at ASL Consulting Offices, 155 Rexdale Blvd., Suite 800, and use personal equipment and existing licenses.

• Recommend effective course design for ASL clients based on past experience.
• Build courses of varying lengths that may include recorded video, talking head, animations, and screen text using a range of applications.
• Learn quickly and become familiar with ASL Applications to build effective e-learning courses.
• Ensure modules comply with Universal Design for Learning, AODA, and accessibility standards, including Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
• Maintain consistent design quality and branding across all material.
• Edit photos, vectors, and videos as needed.
• Pay close attention to detail when creating, reviewing, and revising modules.
• Use strong written communication skills and manage processes and workflows to publish high-quality content.
• Meet new content standards and ensure consistency across all content channels.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a post‑secondary degree or diploma program in Media Design, Information and Learning Technologies or related disciplines.
• High degree of technical knowledge concerning the production and delivery of digital content.
• Minimum of 2–3 years of Canadian work experience building digital instructional design content.
• Experience with media design technology including Vyond, Camtasia, Articulate, HTML, Adobe Creative Suite, and other multimedia rapid authoring tools.
• Experience with Moodle is required; experience with other Learning Management Systems is an asset.
• Understanding of adult learning and user experience principles.
• Experience in a human resources or educational context is an asset.
• Experience educating clients on HR software or HR business processes – web‑based application and assets.
• Demonstrated knowledge of developing storyboards for eLearning modules and videos.
• Strong command of the English language – both written and verbal.
• Excellent writing, editing, and grammatical skills.
