Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced EHS professional in Edmonton, Canada, to own and improve safety performance across distribution centers and branch locations. You will monitor injury rates, audits, claims management and compliance to drive proactive improvement.

You will implement OSHA-aligned strategies, lead incident investigations, coordinate training, manage complex EHS programs, and interface with government inspectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in health and safety.
• Minimum 5 years of direct EHS experience, preferably in distribution or manufacturing.
• Thorough knowledge of health and safety legislation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel approximately 15–20% of the time.
• Familiarity and experience with ISO standards, processes and audits.

Responsibilities

• Own and improve safety performance of distribution centers and branch locations, including injury rates, audit results, claims management and compliance.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and applicable federal and provincial legislation.
• Implement OSHA, ergonomics, injury and illness reduction, hazard communication and environmental matters programs.
• Support leaders with accident and incident root-cause investigations and remediation activities.
• Develop, plan and direct on-site safety programs and projects with significant impact.
• Investigate and recover assets with regional EHS and corporate investigations as needed.
• Maintain documentation and prepare government agency reports and interface with inspectors.
