Job summary

Chemtrade is seeking an EHS Specialist-Canada to implement and oversee Environmental, Health and Safety programs at assigned plant sites in Edmonton, Alberta. This in-person role reports to the Site EHS Manager and focuses on reducing accidents, injuries, and environmental releases while ensuring regulatory compliance across facilities.

The position requires an occupational health or safety credential and strong MS Office skills, with desirable degrees and professional certifications.

Qualifications

• Certificate in occupational health or safety, industrial hygiene, environmental engineering or another relevant field.
• High level of computer skills in MS Office software (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Familiarize with Chemtrade EHS policies and procedures.
• Immediately report all EHS incidents (injuries, near misses, releases).
• Follow facility and corporate EHS procedures and practices.
• Attend facility EHS meetings and participate actively in safety programs.
• Lead job safety analysis activities and implement EHS policies.
• Coordinate training and education related to EHS matters and ensure PPE readiness.
• Conduct audits, inspections, and incident investigations; drive corrective actions.
