Job summary

Sunrise Farms is seeking a dedicated Environmental Health & Safety professional to promote, implement, and continuously improve EHS programs across our facilities in Canada. You will conduct inspections, investigate incidents, and support wellness initiatives within the production environment.

The role requires knowledge of BC OHS legislation, hazard identification, and risk assessment, with 3–5 years’ experience in manufacturing settings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or OHS certification in related field.
  • 3-5 years’ experience administering OHS policies and ensuring legislative compliance.
  • Proven experience implementing health and safety programs, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of BC OHS legislation, hazard identification and risk assessment.
  • Experience managing Return-To-Work and modified work programs.
  • Regular mobility throughout production area (standing/walking).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with unionized and management teams.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, able to work independently or with a team.
  • Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Integrity, transparency, and strong work ethic; data accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a safety culture with shared responsibility across all levels.
  • Oversee day-to-day health and safety initiatives in the facility.
  • Conduct daily on-the-floor safety observations and training reinforcement.
  • Prepare WorkSafeBC documentation and monitor injury claims.
  • Coordinate the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee activities.
  • Implement, manage, and continually improve safety programs.
  • Identify hazards and unsafe practices; recommend corrective actions.
  • Promote proper EHS procedures (Lockout/Tagout, Fall Protection).
  • Develop and follow up on corrective actions; ensure timely completion.
  • Ensure accurate incident reports and documentation quality.
  • Support return-to-work and modified duty programs for injured workers.
  • Maintain Job Safety Analysis and safe work practices documentation.
  • Provide guidance on health and safety matters and data analysis.
  • Deliver safety training to new hires and ongoing programs.
  • Collaborate with plant and corporate to audit EHS policies and procedures.
