What will you be doing!
- Providing direct supervision to materials management, stores, and warehouse personnel.
- Developing goals and objectives in accordance with business planning objectives and leading personnel to achieve performance against these goals and objectives.
- Establishing, evaluating, applying, and reporting on performance and quality indicators for the services provided.
- Resolving issues and related actions.
- Establishing and monitoring inventory levels, replenishment rates, and inventory records.
- Aiding in developing, writing, and monitoring policies, procedures, and processes.
- Ensuring policies and procedures are consistently implemented.
- Providing stewardship of materials management principles and related systems.
- Researching, developing, and recommending asset management policies and procedures, including a process for cataloguing the inventory of all property at WL.
- Ensuring assets are appropriately identified within the WL preventative maintenance system(s).
- Coordinating with building staff to arrange walk-downs for assessing inventory of assets and viewing surplus assets prior to disposition.
- Developing disposition streams and arranging service contracts for surplus assets.
- Estimating the value of surplus assets and determining the appropriate disposition streams based on a cost/benefit analysis.
- Providing oversight of the disposition of surplus assets.
- Informing and directing employees in all matters related to transportation, including compliance with the Transportation of Dangerous Goods regulations.
- Promoting a safe work culture and good housekeeping practices.
- Other duties as assigned by your manager.
What we are looking for:
- Education
- Graduate of a University or College program or equivalent in Business Management, Warehouse Management, or Logistics Management.
- Completion of the APICS certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) is preferred.
- Experience
- Minimum ten years’ experience in inventory and warehouse management.
- Minimum two years' supervisory experience in a unionized environment.
- Experience with Oracle financial systems is an asset.

- Leadership and interpersonal skills to foster a positive team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in process improvement and change management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Awareness of CTPAT and international trade requirements.
- Knowledge of CSD-45 Safety Document related to radioactive shipments.
- Understanding of JIT inventory practices and ERP systems.
- Knowledge of contract management and asset appraisal concepts.
- Familiarity with WHMIS, OHSA, and TDG regulations.
- Security Clearance Eligibility
- Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), requiring 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the US, or the UK.
Working Conditions:
- Four-day work week, ten hours per day, starting at 6 am.
- Combination of office and warehouse environments, with occasional exposure to natural elements and hazards.
